In accordance to this principle, we have been giving scholarships to worthy elementary school,
middle school, high school, and college students, and, working on support projects for various
academic research institutions.
With the arrival of the economy crisis of 1997, in connection with local governments and police,
we have expanded our list of scholarship reci pients to working children, hungry children,
and needy children, and, are currently throwing our efforts into scholarship and support project
for any child who may need our help.
Also, in order to contribute to children¡¯s education and emotional development, we are offering
books and visual learning aids, as well as education training and in-service training.
Moreover, we are offering scholarship to needy descendents of national independence
movement fighters, who sacrificed themselves for the independence movement, to compensate
at least materially for what their ancestors have done for this country. We are also offering support
to foreign students from the third world to improve the image of Korea, as well as to form an
atmosphere of international friendship.
As a result, the government of Mongolia appointed chairman Ho Youn Kim as the honorary
consul of Mongolia, as a token of its gratitude.
Kimkoo Foundation, as an esteemed foundation for the public good,promises to make
every effort to be the leader of social welfare and academic research in Korea.
